Reviving the Lost Art of Letter Writing

Hi Neighbor,

We were inspired to write our humble blog posts in a letter format. Christ wrote letters to the churches with advice, criticism, and love. What better model could possibly be had? You can expect more letters from us and I hope you decide to follow our example and send out your own letter of advice, criticism, and love. Essentially, if you’re apt to avoid a hard conversation, consider sending a letter instead.

Actually, I’m challenging you to write and send more letters. Finding a tangible little note in your mailbox that is not a bill or advertisement can be especially exciting. Written words somehow hold a deeper feel and translate as especially heartfelt. Not to mention the valued keepsake of a loved-one’s hand written affections, words of advice and guidance are quite scarce these days which is a fairly sad thought to ponder.

Additionally, it takes little to no time. In fact, I may even argue that writing a tangible letter is much more satisfying and convenient than texting, emailing, or calling. Being able to take a few minutes to sit down and physically write out what you would like to convey leaves one with a sense of accomplishment and relief.

Get your children involved and have them become pen pals with a grandparent, friend, or cousin. They’ll not only improve their writing skills but become more skilled at relaying their thoughts and emotions accurately and properly. Plus, custom stationery is always fun.

With Love,

About Millie Baxter

My daughters came up with the idea of starting a blog + shop as a way to inspire others to embrace a Christian life; so I agreed. Now, we’re working together to thoughtfully share blog posts and curate items that make it easier for mothers to introduce the gospel to their children, including faith-inspired toys, blankets, and books.

Millie Baxter is a distinctively Christian women’s blog + shop whose purpose is to assist mother’s in truly ministering and introducing the faith to their children and families.

As a result, we are honored to lead by example to inspire and share an authentic gospel-quality lifestyle with Christian women everywhere.
